Whether you share your story\, stand alongside fellow advocates\, or learn about the latest mental health policies\, your presence will make a difference.  \nThe event begins at 10:00 AM with a welcome and policy briefing at the National Guard Armory near the Capitol (600 Cedar Street\, Saint Paul\, MN 55101). In the afternoon\, we’ll gather at 1:30 PM for a rally in the Capitol rotunda\, where legislators and advocates will speak. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet with your legislators and share why mental health policies are important to you. If this is your first meeting with your legislator\, don’t worry! We’ll provide training on effectively discussing current issues. \nThe official registration period has ended for transportation and meetings with your legislator\, but you can still sign up and we’ll do our best. DESCRIPTION:Minnesota is in the middle of a teen and young adults mental health crisis\, with increasing mental illnesses\, suicide\, and substance use disorder rates that often co-occur in people with mental illnesses to cope with overwhelming symptoms. To address this crisis\, NAMI Minnesota and the University of Minnesota’s Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences are joining efforts to offer information at the Annual Research Dinner on these topics for family members\, people who work with youth\, teachers\, researchers\, professionals\, and other community members. The event will take place on Tuesday\, February 25th\, at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Minneapolis Northeast\, located at 1330 Industrial Boulevard Northeast\, Minneapolis\, MN 55413. \nDoors open at 5:30 PM\, dinner will be served at 6:00 PM\, and presentations will run from 6:15 PM to 8:00 PM. The event costs $55 per person\, including an entree\, salad\, and dessert.
